Art Photography 2
E207
Dates: September-June
Class: 5B & 7B
Art Photography II, or Photo 2, is a hands-on art class starting with traditional black & white darkroom photography, blended with digital photography and mixed media. This course is a full year (1 credit).
The first part of the course is a review of film and darkroom printing. We strengthen our personal artistic vision by working on technique and using the Elements of Art & Photography. Special emphasis is placed on lighting and focal point.
For the second half of the year we will be working on using photography as a medium of art in personal expression. We will use experimental techniques such as hand-coloring, double exposure, toning, mixed media painting, and light graffiti. Projects are created by the instructor, but directed by the students. This course encourages student choice and demands personal motivation.
